Eind jaren vijftig komen er in heel nederland veel Indorock bandjes opzetten.

De oorspronkelijk uit Nederlands Indië afkomstige muzikanten drukken hun stempel op de Nederlandse popcultuur. Met name bij veel groepen is de theekistbas een veel voorkomend muziekinstrument.

Ook in de Friese  Wâlden zijn een aantal Indorock formaties actief zoals de Black Eyes, st.Spoody's Act, The Satts, The Black Alligators en The Lions.
